THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF 2015

The months immediately following Mama's death were filled with sadness, stress and lots and lots of work as we prepared to move into our new home (formerly my parent's house).  Had I fully understood everything that would be involved with the renovation of the house, we probably would never have taken it on.  I guess its a good thing we didn't know, because now that we are in and settled (kinda), we're glad we did it.

I'm a picture-taker by nature, and the process of selling our Mount Juliet home, packing everything up, cleaning out Mama's house and Daddy's basement and shop, moving, unpacking, adding a master suite addition to the new home (that was STILL under construction when we moved into the house),  dealing with plumbing leaks and all the other annoyances that simply come with moving provided me many opportunities to "capture" the process. Click here to view some of those pics.

Lesson learned during this process:  we're old.  Previous moves were always approached as a fun adventure, a lot of work - but nothing that we couldn't handle.  This one almost killed us.  Stress levels were off the chart.  We tried to keep a smile on our face . . . but it wasn't fun.

A lot of people are asking to see photos of what was done to the house during the renovation.  I promise to post those pics soon.
